  • looks great plays terrible UPDATE!! After changing pickups wow!!

Ok first off i have not had the time that this guitar needs to be great. out of the box horrible fret buzz but thats to be expected, it needs a truss rod adjustment, i'm used to EMG active pickups so to me these are horrible. The guitar looks amazing and has the potential to be great. I will have to put at least 200.00 more into it and a lot of TLC for this guitar to be great. UPDATE.... After truss rod adjustment pickup replacement new strings i must say i can breath easy now knowing i did not throw my money away. With that said this guitar plays amazing and sounds great with a cheap set of mighty mite C4 active pickups. If your serious about guitar playing then be prepared to do upgrades to this guitar. otherwise spend much more money on a way more expensive model.

  • Half way to the soloist

I'm fortunate to be the owner of numerous high end guitars including my favorite, the Jackson Soloist SL1. Its a fantastic guitar. I wanted a cheaper go to guitar for gigs that I didn't have to be concerned about moving and theft etc. So how does the budget Jackson JS-32 shape up? Does it do the live gig job? Yes. Is it anywhere near a soloist? No but that's OK because its a fraction of the price. So what I liked: the neck (no varnish) and body. When set up properly, (the unit as it came was pretty close) the action is classic Jackson. Nice long sustain. Holds tune very well. The bad: the top of the neck is about 1mm too narrow for the floyd rose headstock (or the headstock is 1 mm too wide). This means its all too easy to pull the top E string over the side of the fretboard and its all too easy for your hand to mute that string when playing chords. The whammy bar was so loose in its housing it was almost unusable. I had to install a plastic gasket to firm up the assembly. The pickups are impressively quiet but IMO have poor and rather thick voicing. If you are serious about clean tone you will want to replace one or both of them. Bottom line: with a few mods (pickups, perhaps $100-200) this could be a really nice cost effective guitar. So the final comparison is with guitars that are roughly $200-300 more that the JS-32.

  • great. just great

Nowadays most guitars made in asia are just as good as anything made somewhere else. Guitars like these would have cost more than $1000 20 years ago. But today It is unvelieveable the quality you get for the price.

  • Love it

Guitar showed up with long frets completely unplayable. I called the closest warranty facility. They said bring it in. They took care of it and did a professional Set up! Kudos to jackson warranty. This thing is awesome now better than my 80’s MIJ soloist!
