    Found in the Warner Archives and labeled poorly was this 19 reels of film that was the ABC Television premiere from 1982 cobbled together by the producers from heaps of outakes and alternate scenes picked up off the editing floor, to create a television event! ...like never before. 3+ hours long, this film was remastered for today's definitive Blu-ray home DVD issue d the restoration work done to present it in this format is unmatched! Thought not to exist in a widescreen presentation this 'masters' of the 1978 Film "Superman the Movie" is remarkable to see like never before. The 30 or so minutes not seen in decades is fluidly reinstated into the film and to be accepted like we we are watching an ABC Sunday Night At The Movies all over again and perfect for our home theaters in glorious ...

    Not just SUPER, but a top 10 movie of all time!

    THE absolute best in super hero entertainment of all time, and one of the greatest movies ever made - period. The extended versions bring home the original theatrical experience which is un-paralleled. Everything about this timeless movie is 5 star in the annals of entertainment - perfect casting, the actual filming of it, heroic and touching story filled with action, drama, romance and the most epic of heroics - it doesn't get any better. And the music of John Williams is beyond superb! That intense and sturring opening sequence to start the movie is probably the greatest opening music and credits combination ever! Since 1978, I am still blown away at how good it is over 40 years later. A must see and one to pass on to future generations in perpetuity.

    christopher reeve is the man !

    Superman the movie is still one of the best superhero movies ever made. Reeve gives a terrific performance in the title role . We have 2 versions of the film here and their both excellent . The 1st is the 3 hour extended cut which has a lot of fun scenes not seen on dvd for over 20 years. The 2nd disk is the special addition released a few years back. A must have for superman fans.
