I have no idea how this happened, because the seller went above and beyond to pack the rods and stand well too, but the rod attached to the stand was bent slightly in the shipping. I was able to repair most of it and the seller was gracious and understanding about the issue. Fantastic, honest seller and I hope to be a repeat customer.
