This wireless fence takes commitment from you to properly train your pet, so pet will recognize and respect the boundary area. You must constantly praise the pet and enforce the positives so as not to have pet completely resist efforts to place the collar on, and be so fearful that they won't be comfortable just moving around the defined play area inside the boundary area. The warning beeper could be a little more audible, because I could barely hear it, and my dog paid NO attention to it, at least at this point. I'm still in the training regimen but have had previous experience with this type of containment. Patience and encouragement, with positive reinforcement will go a long way to successfully use this wireless system. Replacement batteries are easily obtained at local retail stores.

I had a dog that wouldn't stay in the fence. Once he was out he would bring back the neighbor's trash and chew it up all over my yard. I tried this wireless dog fence and once the dog got out of the fence it would shock him for 30 seconds then he was free to do what he wanted. I tried working the dog like the instructions said with the boundary tone and lead him back to safe area but once I left him alone over the fence he would go. You can hear him yelping for about 30 seconds and then right to the trash. I didn't work for me. Not saying its a bad product just didn't work for me.

Set up took just a few minutes. Training a couple weeks, and I'm still monitoring the puppy to make sure he doesn't oops on the boundary. Definitely good if you don't have the money or desire for a fence, or if you have a Houdini. My brother uses the same one so pet sitting either way is easy.

We had a problem with an in-ground fence and are trying this as a more labor friendly replacement. Overall it seems to work ok, but there have been instances where the dog, in the house and within the radius of the fence, has had his collar start to beep. He had gotten zapped outside and knows what the beep means, so he was understandably scared by this. Most important, though, is that it does keep the dogs within the desired area, and having gotten zapped once, they have actually been much more obedient about staying in the area and coming in when it is time.

we have 2 mini Doxies. They are smart but can be obstanant. after our 2 week training, introduction to the system we went out on leashes and of course they got poked by the fence cause they just wouldn't pay attention to the warnings. Now they are experienced in the total workings of the system and have been well behaved since. Thank you for a great system at a fair price.
