Slow starter but then...where is the second book of the trilogy?
A book with love, family intrigue, criminals lots of racy singles in a village where one does not know who is going to end up with whom, a ghost...just all the things in one package, so there were big expectations. It was though when starting to read a big slow in really getting the action going. And as it did it sort of dissappointed a little, because just the answers one wanted to get answered were not answered. Like: why are the hero's older brothers all unmarried, despite the fact that they are all soo good looking? Who the heck is that ghost that is in the building site? And what is the ghosts name? If the ghost can write, why doesn't he/she write his/her name and let the bunch know what the story is? Why is that inn so important to the family in the center of the story? But despite ... Make you feel as if you were sitting across from them eating pizza and frankly it is the first time I read a book of Nora Roberts where the people seem really real with real lives. People whose husbands die, husbands who need to go off to war and do not return, children that are rottenly educated, fights without heros, dripping plumbing where no guy is around to fix it, children who make a mess of a house and leave one exhausted, dogs that are supposed to guard you but instead piss on the carpets, guys who dream of their childhood belles who went off and married someone else, jalous friends, cheating mates, ...yep, there is just a little bit of all of us there. A good read after all. Already impatient for the next in the trilogy.
