Garbage
Garbage. Horrible results after scan. No detail at all. Scan looks like a blob. XYZ printing should be embarrassed of this terrible product. I checked reviews and YouTube videos before I purchased. Waste of money.

handy and useful 3d scanner, a econoline van rather than a limo.
this device is rather useful for grabbing captures in 3d of things such as ones face. it has much trouble confronting anything of any reflective surfaces, such as a 1/18th scale car. it does save directly to an stl file, and that is most helpful, as one can cut and slice up 3d collected images and weave them onto other 3d object files. that can be very useful. the resolution of a scanned object will noticeably improve should the saved file be edited to reduce the size of the object accordingly. so if you scanned a face, and you wanted to make a smaller copy of it, it would seem more impressive from a resolutions point of view. the software is presently only functional with a windows based machine, though one can expect that they are always willing to focus on improving their software ... this device is rather useful for grabbing captures in 3d of things such as ones face. it has much trouble confronting anything of any reflective surfaces, such as a 1/18th scale car. it does save directly to an stl file, and that is most helpful, as one can cut and slice up 3d collected images and weave them onto other 3d object files. that can be very useful. the resolution of a scanned object will noticeably improve should the saved file be edited to reduce the size of the object accordingly. so if you scanned a face, and you wanted to make a smaller copy of it, it would seem more impressive from a resolutions point of view. the software is presently only functional with a windows based machine, though one can expect that they are always willing to focus on improving their software product, or at least allowing for a user to download a driver file for the scanning device, as to allow a user the option of using 3rd party versions of capturing and saving files. the exclusion of mac and android based computer support, will no doubt lead you into an adventure seeking a find a work around if you are a mac person with the needed i7 processor power and the 8 gigs of memory that seems needed. i was able to port a windows 10 shell onto a macbook air, by using something called 'bootcamp'. after that and some time donated to the cause, a successful scan and many more after that, became just what was needed to be done. if you have a i7 based machine, you are in luck! my original windows based machine, i did not feel like i was willing to pay extra investment to become useable on a i7, as the installation disk of the xyz software, has a preset limitation preventing its installation unless it predetermines the presence of a i7 or higher processor. those coupled limitations will no doubt become addressed by means of a downloadable software version update. to be honest though, i am happy with this scanner. its not a bad deal for the money. =) xyz is a very creative brand and they do wish to help influence the world of creative arts. they are worthy of salute and applause. thankyou xyz! keep up the good work! if you ever require a honest caring product beta tester or reviewer, please know that you can contact me at any time sometime in the future. everyone on this planet should invest into their own creativity. this is how you ramp up evolution. its easy to believe this to be true. click Buy Now and you will be showing support to yourself including the world that you wish to shape into a better interesting place.
