The long-running Need for Speed series races into new territory with this cross-platform, cross-generational release. Most Wanted is built upon many of the fan-favorite features and modes from previous games in the series, including a forgiving yet credible physics engine, vehicles of real-life makes and models, and state-of-the-art graphics. As with the previous Need for Speed: Underground, much of the game is styled around the illicit street racing scene, and as in earlier games such as Need for Speed III and Hot Pursuit 2, many of the Most Wanted's challenges involve not only getting from one place to another in the fastest time, but avoiding ambitious law enforcement officers (in souped-up vehicles of their own) all along the way.
Need for Speed: Most Wanted for the Nintendo Gamecube is a fun and entertaining game. The graphics are good, the police chases are very fun, and the races are very heated. There are a few things that make the game unrealistic and some controller throwing moments. You might be in the middle of a super long police chase and are racking up the bounty, when all of a sudden, you suddenly lose control of your car, spin out of control, and are arrested by the police, and don’t get a single bounty point!!!! But if you can overlook that, than the rest of the game is pure fun!!! The problem on eBay is the high prices most people ask for the game, going up to a whopping $40!!! The graphics get a 4 out of 5. The music selection gets a 3 out of 5. The replay value gets a 4 out of 5!!! This game gets a 4 out of 5 overall!!!Read full review
Being a fan of Need For Speed i couldn't wait until Most Wanted was released. I had heard so many good reviews that it was a must have for my collection.
Now i have the game and have to admit it wasn't really worth the wait for me and really wasn't worth the huge cash investment.
Although Most Wanted has very good graphics, really cool cars, police chases and excellent artwork i was let down that i couldn't create my own car to drive in career mode. I like being able to choose my ride not having it chosen for me.
Overall i would have to say that NFS Most Wanted is the best driving game released to date but, feel somewhat shortchanged by EA Games.
I've played NFS-MW on my PC, so it was natural that I would find the image on my television a bit poor. Adding to that fact the inferior graphics of Nintendo consoles. Though it really seemed like it would have been a deception, the playability helped a lot. The controller, like no other game system, works like a charm for acceleration, braking, nitrous and speedbreaking. This videogame is probably one of the best of EA, much better than its predecessor. The one thing that really annoyed me was the letters, the map and the screen displays. They are too small to be seen on my 21 inch flat screen tv. I think its developers forgot that the game would be played too on SD (standard definition) pannels.
The game really loads right up and has a modern menu better than most newer games. It is honestly not as easy as the newer games which took me by surprise. All in all expect a lot of fun but a lot of replay mission scenarios.
Great game, graphics are a bit old for my tvs but it was great to jump back into the world of most wanted. Game works and it's as described. I can finally make it past the main menu! Thank you thank you thank you!!
