    There were cheaper models available, but this one has better features and is made in the USA. I like the extra cable length because I can run it through a side window on my van.

    suspect antenna

    I have purchased many mobile cb radio antennas over the years. this K40 antenna for some reason has no problem setting the swr but has the tendency increase the longer you talk on it. I switch swr meters, changed jumper coax and even used a double male connector from radio to meter and this issue persists. when I changed to a different mag mount antenna no more rising of the sir.

    IT'S K-40 , , ,Duh

    Started using K40 antennas when I first got into CB Radios in the late sixties. It was a real prestige thing to see a K40 on the base load mounted on a vehicle. And good reason why, they are excellent antennas. I see double K40s' on a lot trucks today which speaks for itself. When I ran tankers, I used them with a two Elkin amp and they perform well. I'm going to set this one up with a Midland rado and an electronic 100 amp in my car. Can't wait to set it up!
