    Best of the best

    I had one of these for over fifteen years, and it still runs fine, but I bought another this year just in case the old one ever does die. Has a four-speed transmission, and rewinds in seconds. Does no damage to tapes, superior image quality; superior head integrity; no tracking problems; I love VCRs because they do not cause the shutdown of the brain that newer tech causes. This Mitsubishi VCR is the Rolls-Royce of videocassette technology. Also, the silver model is equivalent.

    This is the best VCR ever made, and that is why I bought it again. The first one I had lasted over a decade.

    The features this VCR has exceeds all others. The counter search to zero and the fact you can record directly from standard definition and high definition without having to change input sources makes it very easy, and unless the cassette tape has severe physical damage the VCR will track almost any cassette tape very well. Conclusion when I find another Mitsubishi HS-U448 and remote in the same condition I would buy it in a heartbeat. Oh, by the way I never rate anything "5 stars" or "Excellent" on any reviews I've been asked in the past this is the first and probably the only time it will happen.

    Turbo drive mechanism!

    Great machine. Goes through tapes without any problems. I would recommend this recorder to anyone who likes to record a program when their away. When it comes to watching a program on tv, you never miss a show. A dvd or blu ray player are better. In the long run, when it comes to quality viewing. Every component has a use and a Mitsubishi hs-u448 is perfect! I like the rewind feature. It's extremely fast! I recommend this player. It's worth buying!

    Solid VCR

    Good replacement for my older VCR's that no longer worked. Remote provided did not work on set up menu functions, but did work on basic functions. Time counter only available via display function on TV, not on VCR itself. For my purposes of transferring VHS tapes to UT other media, it worked fine.
