Definition of a great pocket knife
I am a pocket knife collector; I have over 30. This Gerber LST is my favorite of all favorites. The LST stands for light strong tough and it lives up to its name. It’s very thin, very light, sharp, and it has really nice movement action and locking mechanism. I have, without exaggeration, but over 10 of these exact knives and I give them away as gifts. What guy doesn’t like a cool pocket knife that won’t be bulky in your pocket. Also, I have given many of these out to female friends for them to keep in their purse. It’s a good little protection mechanism but also great for cutting tags or opening boxes or whatever it is it has a million uses. I love this knife and I will continue to buy the best gifts and use them as a great carry around. Also they are so reasonably priced. It is a MUST ... I am a pocket knife collector; I have over 30. Had knife in pocket and use it every day. Pin I noticed was loose in handle that connects handle to spring and locking mechanism. Sure as heck, pin fell out somewhere and was lost. Ferber needs to rivet the pin ends better so it is not lost. Have always loved their products, especially this size knife, fits in pocket, yet not too small for larger jobs. No better pocket knife that I know of
The Gerber LST is in my pocket every day for at least 15 years. Working in the motion picture Indudtry I need a sharp knife all the time. The steel used to make the blade is harder than most and therefore holds a good edge longer. A diamond home isn’t essential but much faster, followed by a good hard Arkansas honing stone - most other knife blades are softer and need re-sharpening more often. While it’s certainly a stout, sturdy tool it’s light weight makes all-day carry easy and comfortable. Also, it’s inexpensive enough that replacing it when it gets lost doesn’t cost too much.The Gerber LST is in my pocket every day for at least 15 years.
