I have owned several scanners in the past (since 1967) and this is my 3rd Whistler 1010, it's easy to program, has an excellent audio system, is rugged, attractive, and far cheaper than an equivalent brand. This one is for an elderly lady in my senior apt. complex. I had gotten another one for another older lady and she was very happy, showing it off to bed neighbors hence the need for this purchase. I program all the frequencies they ask for them I add a few others that I think they'll want and give it to them with a brief, simple explanation of the functions and they're set. (Maybe I should become a sales outlet, lol, as I have 2 more people asking me to look for one for them)

The scanner would stop scanning the channels by itself about every 15 minutes to 2 hours. I would have to restart the scanning mold. It will not restart scanning the channels until I pushed scan again. The police scanner picked up signals good like it should. The only bad thing is it would stop scanning the channels by itself and would not start scanning again until I pushed scan again. That ain't no good so I sent it back

This is a nice scanner. It’s only fault is it won’t take PL tones and the channel spacing is wide so you can’t program certain frequencies

Pro: When it works the clarity of the scanner is good Con: The Scanner continuously stops scanning have to continuously Press the scan button if it to resume scanning
