The item in the picture looks sturdy but in reality the materials and constructions are sub par. The shelves are very thin so during assembly the wood at the joints began to split as the screws went in thus it was important not to over tighten. The entire shelf is uneven and just feels brittle so I was hesitant when trying to sit on it while putting on my shoes. My expectations were not high for the price point and it's holding up for now, but not sure how long it will last.
