About this product

Product Information

Although Pac-Man was a bestseller for the Atari 2600 when it was released, it was generally criticized for its poor graphics and sound, and the fact that it looked little like the arcade game it was based on. Along with E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial, it was one of the most criticized games of its time.

Ms. Pac-Man was the arcade sequel to Pac-Man, and its translation to the Atari 2600 represented a giant leap forward for the console.

Unlike Pac-Man for the Atari 2600, Ms. Pac-Man contains four different colored ghosts, fruit and changing mazes. A new option not available in the arcades has been added, allowing the player to specify the number of ghosts roaming the maze.

With the exception of moving fruit, the gameplay of Ms. Pac-Man is identical to that of Pac-Man. The object of the game is to clear the maze of dots while avoiding ghosts. Power pills are eaten to make the ghosts turn blue, which is a signal that they are susceptible to your voracious appetite.

The cartridge contains 8K of memory, double the amount of the original Pac-Man.

    Classic Home Gaming Didn't Get Much Better

    As a child of the 80's, I was at Ground Zero when Pac-Man mania hit in late 1980's. Countless quarters were fed into the arcade game as we all dreamed of how cool it would be to have a Pac-Man machine at home to play with as much as we liked. Enter the Atari 2600. As the most popular home gaming platform in the 80's, it's first try at a Pac-Man game really wasn't that well executed or received. In 1983 however, they came out with Ms. Pac-Man, and wow! Was it an improvement! As a kid, my family played this game over and over and over, to the point where I can still hear the chomping sounds Ms. Pac-Man made as she sped across the screen. While it was still not an exact port of the arcade game, the game play was so much better. Ms. Pac-Man was nimbler and quicker to control, there were a ...

  • Ms Pac Man Rocks!

    Only had the original Pac Man for my 2600 growing up. I heard that Ms Pac Man for the 2600 was much better. Man, their not kidding! Visually, it’s much easier to see the ghosts and tell when they’re in flight mode, and Ms Pac Man actually faces the direction she’s traveling! The sounds are much better, also. This is a very fun game on the Atari 2600!!!

  • awesome A++++++++

    It’s Miss Pac-Man that’s one of the greatest games ever and it being an older game makes it even better now The new newest games are pretty awesome because of graphics but old-school games still rock 😎

  • As described, well packaged, & works great!

    This is a very retro game. But it looks like new and works great! What do you like, love, or dislike about it? I had this game as a youngster but replaced the whole system with Nintendo! Every since then I am constantly upgrading but really missed "Mrs. Pacman" and the newer systems didn't carry it or I could not find it. Why did you decide to buy it? Honestly, it was cheap and I figured that I would at least attempt this purchase but I did not expect much. I was very delighted by the packaging, the appearance of the game, and then I began playing it! My score still isn't were it was "once upon a time" but I am enjoying trying to constantly better my score. I have got 40 other games for my Atari but this one is the only one I play.

  • Works as advertised

    It does as advertised which isn’t bad for a game cartridge made in the 80’s. The gameplay on my 2600+ went off without a hitch
