I bought different phones looking to help me with my severe hearing loss. The Clarity XL40D phone gave me a clear sound when talking to someone and had a higher volume setting than I needed. I would set the volume on low and that was enough. But it didn't ring loud enough for me. So I bought two different phone ringer amplifiers and they didn't help me. Now I just got the Clarity Alto 54005.001 phone. Wow, it rings loud and without using any ringer amplifiers. I'm only using half the volume for the ringer. Now I can hear the phone ring when I'm in another room. And yes it gives me a clear sound when talking to someone with a higher volume setting than I need. The volume sound for talking may be a little clearer than the Clarity XL40D phone but it's hard to tell for sure. They both clear. I wish I had the Clarity Alto 54005.001 phone years ago.Read full review
