I bought this camera to replace one I already had that developed a cracked lens. If you havent done 3-D images before you find this to be a bit of a steep learning curve. Both images and video have quirks on some displays/tv's that you need to adjust for. Making stereo prints is easy using a freeware program. Now the camera... Your first mistake will be covering up a lens with your fingers. Look out for the red warning icon about that. Second mistake will be having the command dial shift to a setting you DONT want! Watch it carefully. Camera takes pictures well. Sometimes the focus doesnt. Images are a bit "soft" compared to an SLR. Good battery life from the rechargeable battery that comes with it. The flash is weak and in the WRONG place, but it is usable. Use the slow sync setting for most pics. Other cameras have the lenses too close together for good stereo separation. The supply will probably run out soon. Fuji has given the word that they are not making any more and are not releasing an updated version.Read full review
If you want to take digital 3-D pictures (or even videos) for viewing on a 3D TV or 3D computer monitor, this is probably you best choice, both for price and features -- at least until some newer 3-D cameras come on to the market. The 3-D images may also be aligned and output to multiple other formats for printing and viewing using free software (not included) that may be found by searching for "StereoPhoto Maker". It makes taking 3-D images as simple as 2D images. It also have has a nice 3-D viewing screen that does NOT require 3-D glasses to see the image in 3-D!
I bought this camera as a toy for making 3D photos and videos and, of course, I knew about it's pure picture quality in 2D mode. But also I knew that it's only one really available real 3D camera at the present time. So, I'm surely satisfied in my purchase. Image quality is not a matter when you use this device just a 3D goodie. Also this camera can show me in 3D mode the pictures converted from stereo pairs captured by my main camera - Pentax K5 - using its MyFinePix software.
Been taking 3D pictures for 50+ years by shooting a left pic then sliding a few inches to the right for the other so this 3D camera is a big step up for me. The camera is as expected but there's no lugs for a neck strap, just a wrist strap, so carrying it around with my regular camera is not the most convenient. This order was missing the memory card and the manual, the 2nd battery wouldn't charge, and the box wasn't in the best of conditions. Bought 2 new batteries and charger for $13, got a 16GB memory card and updated the firmware. She's ready to go capturing the world in 3D!

The Fujifilm FinePix 3D W3 is an impressive camera - far more so than its predecessor. The rear LCD is nice and large, though framing and capturing a good 3D image can be a bit harder than standard photography, its a good idea to get some basic tutorials for 3D photography of the internet. This camera gives great images and is an affordable 3D camera now. It’s not without fault Though: the LCD screen can be effected by sunlight but its great to see your images popping out in-front of you with out those stupid 3D Glasses, Also it can be quite easy to put a finger in front of one of the two lenses. You can plug straight into your 3D tv and view your 3D videos and snapshots in an instant witch makes the sitting down with the family and showing your holiday snaps so more interesting when they come out the screen at you. All in all this camera is a geat 2d camera as well as an amazing 3D camera you can also take 2 images at the same time with different settings. (try doing that with a standard camera)Read full review
Recently I bought a Acer 274H 3D monitor and so I bought this camera. The camera is good. The 3D quality as seen on the camera is good. This monitor does not seem to work with mpo 3D format and so still unsuccessful in viewing the pictures on bigger screen. I will write more if I am able to resolve this problem. 12/29/2014 This camera and monitor combination is working very well with Nvidia driver. I am extremely happy with the purchase. I had some difficulty in understanding all the requirements initially and now I am fairly comfortable. Even the 2D picture is very good.
Great camera for 3D pictures! The manual can be located online and it's daunting. I used a pdf editor to cut out the easy stuff and fluff to end up with a shorter cliff notes version. The camera has a lot of options, what I found the easiest was just to experiment with different settings until you better understand all of the features of this camera and what it can do with all of its many buttons. I haven't had much luck with zoomed indoor pics coming out clear but I have yet to try it outside. To conserve battery life, I set the screen brightness down to -5 and the show image timer to 3 seconds after a picture is taken. You can change the depth of pictures stored on your SD card the same way you can alter 3D with Nvidia's 3D Vision if you still have that gaming hardware. One thing I did not discover until late is that this camera is not the best for close-up 3D shots for miniatures or dioramas. There is a macro setting like many digital cameras have, however the suggested distance is still 5-6 feet so if you want to photo things even closer in 3D, you're going to have to find an obscure lens adapter and it seems more rare than unobtanium - The Sony MHS-FS3 combined with an external light source might be best for close-ups. I picked up some FP-50 1400mAh batteries here for $6 each and they work great beyond the original Fujifilm 1000mAh stock batteries which were manufactured some time ago. The MyFinePix software studio which originally came on cd-rom is easily found online and it's free software. If you have trouble converting .mpo files there's also an option for .mpo and .jpeg. Get yourself a 32Gb SD card and at 800 ISO you'll have room for 8,000 pictures. Read full review

I am a 3D video buff and have been for years. I experiment with 3d and have made many Blu Ray 3d videos. This Fuijifilm 3d camera is the best 3d camera made for the price and easy to do features. The great quality goes unmatched compared to any 3d camera out there on the market. I am very happy with this camera!! I have 3 of them and use them alot. The only other 3d camera that would challenge this one would be the $3000 + big professional complicated camera.

For a product made in 2010, I am really impressed. I coulda gone with a newer model and gotten better resolution and more manual controls in my stereo camera, but the W3 is sharp enough (~3200px wide I think) and you do get a variety of f-stop, exposure, and ISO controls. But the ability to immediately wow a friend (and myself) with the built-in lenticular 3D lcd screen is worth the money in and of itself. Really, the only thing I wish it did was write data to an SD card quicker (takes about 7 seconds between shots, though I think there is a "rapid fire" setting)

This is a fun camera for taking 3D photos. Can be used as a simple point & shoot or have greater control with manual settings. Picture quality on the rear screen is excellent.
