I originally bought the Holmes window fan. It works well and moves a decent amount of air for its size. But Holmes cut too many corners on their fan. For one it doesn't come with legs to allow the fan to stand on its own. This is a great feature that the Comfort Zone fan has. Second the Holmes fan doesn't have two retractable side panels. They went cheap and only have one retractable side panel and one slip on panel that can be lost. Finally the Holmes fan doesn't come with a bug screen or foam cover. These two are essential for a window fan as it'll prevent or reduce any unwanted insects from being sucked in while the fan is on. So basically the Comfort Zone window fan is just as powerful as the Holmes fan is but you get allot of extras for the same amount. It's really a no brainier which fan to go with. Oh and also if you purchase your Holmes fan on Amazon like I did they'll just ship the fan in its retail box! So the likely hood of it being damaged or stolen is a big risk. I've included photos of both fans side by side and also installed in the window. Read full review

I’ve only had this fan in use for a few days and already one of the fan blades has fallen off. I couldn’t recommend this fan.

Window fan came with bug screens for both sides. Works well in either direction. Since my windows are screened I am not using the supplied screens or pulling either side closures so cannot comment on those features.
