This is a really great film to watch. Most of it is accurate and the characters in the movie are some of my favorite MMA guys. When you first see Renzo laughing it up in the pool, you think he is kind of nutty (and he says that he looked that way in those shots). In reality he is a great family man and has a great sense of humor and helps his community. Now to Mark Kerr. He was someone I watched from the first appearance he made fighting in the UFC. I thought he had a bright future in the sport, and he did do very well beating some of the best in the world. His drug addiction and rehab along with his family interaction made the film more interesting. My problems with the film are as follows: 1. The shots of the blood covered canvas and fighters is from a smaller now non-existent organization. Although it is a blood sport (like boxing), that kind of total blood covered fight is very very rare and really doesn't happen anymore. This sport is far safer than many others, including boxing, where there are 6 to 10 deaths a year reported. I have only heard of one death in MMA in a small event somewhere in the Midwest. 2. They make the sport seem more brutal than it really is. These guys are not like you and me. They are the best conditioned athletes in the world and can take more punishment than any normal person. They also have more stamina than any other athletes in the world. The way the fighters congratulate each other after the fights shows the maturity and professionalism of these top athletes. Seeing this made me understand how NFL players can shake hands and talk to the opposing teams players after a game. It is their profession, they do not hate the other players as a rule. 3. Mark Kerr does not represent the vast majority of MMA fighters. They do not take drugs or cheat in any way. They have tremendous pride in themselves and their sport. Now they are drug tested before and after every fight and the sport is the cleanest in the world in that respect. 4. My biggest problem with the film is the sound effects. I have seen over 4,000 MMA fights and knew something was wrong when I watched the film. If you listen to the commentary you learn that the filmmakers had a "young man" hitting a side of beef with a baseball bat to create the sound of a strike by the fighters. This nearly ruined the movie for me because it was so unreal it made the fights seem faked in some way (which they were because of the fake sound effects). It was used to make the sport seem more brutal than it really is. Most of these fighters don't want to hurt their opponent, they just want to win. I personally like the submission aspect of MMA because you show your skill and make the other guy quit without hurting him. Overall a great film about a great sport. The fastest growing sport in the world. I just wish they had shown the real, exact way the fights look and sound. Also show more about the way the vast majority of fighters are really gentlemen who have an unbelievable training regimen and an extreme way of making a living.Read full review

I have seen this movie ,documentary 4-5 times and bought it anyway ,its that good. Mark Kerr great guy and so is Bas Rutten. I wish they were both still in the top of the game. It seemed more entertaining then! Bas ,is just a fun guy ,I cant believe some acting people didnt grab him up ,he's sharp.
i like it because it's a biograghy on mark kerr the positives and negatives in his life as a fighter i think he was one of the best no dislikes when he was on HBO and they had a special i loved watching it that's why i bought it thank you for your interest
The hard and painful truth of fighting, excellent depiction of the rise and fall of a superstar. Mark Kerr is now a Car salesman in Arizona.
