    Kiss My Ass CD

I was skeptical when I first saw this album but after many sessions I have grown to love listening to it. It's all good but there are a few tracks that rise above the rest. Both CHRISTINE SIXTEEN and CALLING DR LOVE rock the house while the softer version of ROCK AND ROLL ALL NITE gets better with every listen. For some reason it just sounds natural as if KISS originally recorded it that way. The remaining tracks sound excellent in their own way. But the standout track is SHE as played by Anthrax. I almost hate to say that I'm beginning to prefer it over the Kiss version. And that's saying a lot because Dressed To Kill (which SHE was pulled from) is my favorite studio album by Kiss. Yes, Anthrax's version is THAT good. Worth your money to buy this CD.

  • Nice regrooving of Kiss tracks!

"Deuce" - Stevie Wonder/Lenny Kravitz is the highlight of the CD. "Hard Luck Woman" - Garth Brooks is a nice remake of the original but doesn't stray too far from the path. "She" - Anthrax is suitably heavy. "Christine Sixteen" - Gin Blossoms provides a 90s altpoprock take on the tune. "Rock And Roll All Nite" - Toad The Wet Sprocket is unique as an altcountry- style track."Calling Dr. Love" - Shandi's Addiction is a track I could live without, as is "Black Diamond". It is a shame they couldn't have just used the Replacement's version of the tune. "Detroit Rock City" - The Mighty Mighty Bosstones done with a full ska horn section and the booming vocals of the Bosstones is another highlight. If you are a Kiss fan, this CD is worth the listen.

  • KISS My Ass (Tribute to KISS)

I bought this cd from ebay because this cd is very rare in Indonesia, and even Singapore (the usual place for me to hunt rare cd's). The thing i love about this album is so many talent like Lenny Kravitz, Stevie Wonder, Anthrax, and Extreme pay their tribute to KISS with their style but stay true to the roots. When this cd arrived at my door, i am extremely pleased by it's condition because it was used but still in excelent shape. The sound in this album is great because in some track, Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons produce it themselves. What makes this album so special is Paul and Gene dedicated this album for Ace Frehley and Peter Criss who left the band in 1980's. This is also the turning point for KISS that restart the career since a year after this album, the original line-up consist ...

  • Covering KISS

I bought the album because of two songs I knew I particularly liked... "Hard Luck Woman" (Garth Brooks), and "Christine Sixteen" (Gin Blossoms). I got what I paid for and am glad I have the cd. As for the rest of the tracks, I like some and not others. A few are practically unrecognizable as KISS songs ("Rock and Roll All Nite" by Toad the Wet Sprocket and "Black Diamond by YOSHIKI,)others stayed more true to the essence of the song ("Deuce" by Lenny Kravitz, and "Detroit Rock City" by The Mighty Mighty Bosstones are excellent covers). Not sure anyone did their track as well as the original by KISS, except maybe for Garth Brooks on "Hard Luck Woman." Consider buying the cd anyway. If you're open minded, it's "worth a deuce."

  • KISS my Ass(various artists-1994) KISS Covers

This album shows the originality and different identitys a song can have by a change of Artist performing or the type of genre that it is performed in. I was especially impressed by Anthrax's version of "SHE" their rawness give it a edgy sound. This album in my opinion is a must for REAL KISS collectors such as myself. Thanks for reading.GIO
