Until, ultimately, the demands of touring and living in the spotlight took their inevitable toll. John's story is also a tribute to his great friend Mark Knopfler, the band's lead singer, songwriter and gifted guitarist - the only band members to stay the fifteen-year distance.     VERY GOOD AUTOBIOGRAPHY

    I have read quite a few music biogs/autobiogs and found John Illsley's quite a stand out one. John writes positively and interestingly covering the whole history of Dire Straits. A good read !!
