A Must-Have Dessert Cookbook
Great cookbook for recipes AND reading. Ms. Heatter has made this a "good read". The Palm Beach Brownies with Chocolate-Covered Mints on page viii of the "Author's Notes" has become my husband absolute favorite. I keep a supply in the freezer, packaged in twos, and bring out a set every night before dinner. It's our favorite dessert. You will love this book. P.S. Her Key Lime Cake is also wonderful, but the recipe is not in this book. Google for it.Great cookbook for recipes AND reading. Ms. Heatter has made this a "good read". Great Desserts----Revised HARDCOVER
I have collected the Maida Heatter cookbooks from the beginning and was very pleased to see America's First Lady of Desserts putting out this big, beautiful, dessert book again. Mine is from the late 80's, but I find that these recipes are fool-proof and incomparable. Simple recipes like the Boston Cream Pie to Sweet Potato Pound Cake and Pennsylvania Dutch Peach Cobbler. She has the best recipe for Caramel Fudge Brownies! If you get a chance to won any of her cookbooks you are in for a treat.
