The Oreck XL 3600 Upright Cleaner is an ultra-lightweight upright vacuum cleaner with industrial-sized strength and cleaning power. The Oreck XL 3600 Upright Cleaner weighs in at eight pounds and the double helix brushes of the vacuum pick up even the tiniest particles as they spin at an ultra-high speed of 6500 rotations per minute. With its bright headlamp located on the front of the upright vacuum body and the ability to fold out to 90 degrees in order to reach under beds and furniture, the Oreck XL 3600 upright is great for getting in dark corners and closets. Other important features of the Oreck XL 3600 are the 35 foot fire resistant cord, edge brushes on either side of the unit, which are designed to clean along steps, walls, and baseboards, and an extra wide cleaning path. The bumpers on the vacuum are non-marring so that walls and floors will not be blemished with black streaks and the wheels are soft so as not to disturb even delicate flooring. The Helping Hand handle on the Oreck XL 3600 Upright Cleaner takes the stress off hands, wrists, elbows, and forearms by utilizing the micro sweep system, which requires no manual adjustment or handle pressing to transfer from carpet to hardwood, tile, linoleum, or other hard floor surface. Thanks to the vacuum's ultra-lightweight, it is easier to carry the vacuum up and down stairs and from room to room as the eight pound weight is far less than comparable vacuums which have similar abilities and uses.

    Not for me

    Okay so I was excited about the chance to acquire an Oreck. I have only drove one, my mom's and it seemed to be a good one for her carpet. Not a high plush, nor a low plush, but it appeared to do the job. I knew that the Oreck vacuum was nothing more than a little motor with a good/decent suction to it. My carpet is more than 30 years old, and its seen better days, but I have taken decent care of it. I've had it professionally cleaned and vacuumed more than once, and even purchased one of the little bissel green machines for spot cleaning. So now comes the truth. I realize that it's nothing of being fancy or with any attachments, and there are some models with 2 speeds, of which mine is only one. The on off switch is lighted, which I didn't know about.     I was a huge fan of the radio show "And now you know the rest of the story with Paul Harvey" This man was a trusted and well known radio personality mostly because he never endorsed any product, business, or store without trying it for himself. The Oreck was in his house, used daily with rave reviews. I have now acquired an Oreck after going through 100's of the guaranteed designed to break down, Hoovers, Eureka's, and Dirt Devils, even owned 2 Electrolux, Rainbow, and HYLA monsters that lasted forever because they were rarely used as they were a HUGE hassle to drag out, they were unbelievably heavy, awkward,and repair was about the same as a weeks worth of grocery's.     I love my Oreck vacuum

    I love the Oreck vacuum. It is very simple, small, and light. It has a really long cord. It does a great job and is easy to store. There are no attachments to fall off. It does not make any dust. (I had tried one of the vacs that don't have a bag, and when I would vacuum kitty litter it made a fine dust that got all over everything.) Love my Oreck. We actually have two, one for upstairs and one for downstairs.

    Orek Vacuum Cleaner

    I bought a used Orek because I needed a new vacuum cleaner and did not want to pay full price for it. I love it because the roller has been replaced and is like new. It was easy doing business as always, with ebay. The only thing I don't like is that the outside of the vacuum was hard to clean up, thus it looks a little dated. It suits it's purpose, however, and I am overall really pleased with my purchase!

    It seems to be ok, if the very badly chord holds out

    It had animal hair in bag !!! the chord has lots of large knocks, and taped in places.
