It's fun if you're 6!
I bought this game for my 6 year old niece and she loved it. Since she knew all the words, she only had to concentrate on getting the pitch right (which really doesn't matter if you say the words just as long as the sound you are making is the pitch needed). We have barely started playing the game so I'm not sure if the features get better but as of now, they leave much to be desired. For one, you don't get to choose if you are a girl or a boy singing. My niece is very frustrated that she is stuck singing the boy parts of the song and she can't sing the girl parts unless it is a girl only song. I was frustrated that there is no save options after the songs so if we need to turn the PS2 off, next time we have to start from the beginning again. The game ranks you on an "A", "B" or "C" scale ... I bought this game for my 6 year old niece and she loved it. They show pictures of the movie, not actual footage which makes for a boring wait for the song to begin. I have tried to bypass the voiceover but I couldn't. This game was very boring for me and even though my niece loved the fact that it was High School Musical, I think it bored her too. She loves singing the songs but not waiting for the songs to begin. My personal test for a good game is not wanting to turn it off and wanting to keep playing until I can't keep my eyes open anymore. When it was time to turn off the game, my niece didn't mind at all. Overall, it is a cool game for the High School Musical fans but not a cool game for gamers. If you are both, then you might be able to sit through this game but you will be bored after a few songs. I hope Disney puts a bit more thought and personality into any future games under the HSM namesake.

It really feels like your in the movies!
Awesome game! I would definetly play it again and recommended it to anyone who likes to sing or loves the movie! It is very easy to play. The characters are fun. You can really make a character look like the movie characters or make them crazy and unique. The songs choice is great. It is fun to unlock other songs. It is fun to play by yourself or play with a group at a "party". You can really be competetive or just relaxed. You really feel like your part of the movie. You can sing alone or duet with it! That is the best of both worlds! It is real good on rating the pitch of your voice!Awesome game! I would definetly play it again and recommended it to anyone who likes to sing or loves the movie! high school game with bad mic
Bought the game for my granddaughter she was very excited to get it as soon as it came in she went to play it and found out the game worked fine but the mic didn't work luckly she had another mic she could use I was lucky enough to be able to fix the mic that didn't work because I told her I wouldn't ship it back because it would cost more to ship it back then the hole game cost me.

my granddaughter loved it, the songs were current, and the characters were life like. The programing was easy for an eight year old. Gave her hours of fun. She loved showing it off to her friends.
