    Great modem for the price

Replaced my Xfinity modem to save the $14 month rental, fee. When directly plugged into the modem my laptop gets the full bandwidth but once I connect my router and plug into one of the lan ports the speed is noticeably slower. I think Xfinity throttles the speed when you replace their modem for your own, as this has happened with previous devices. This is no fault of the modem, other than that it works fine for my needs. I could have gone with a Docsis 3.1 device but with the internet plan I have I saw no real benefit. I will see how this holds up over time but I do not foresee any issues, it is working well so far

  • Good Modem that Works Well with Google Mesh Routers and Ring Security System

My only criticism of this modem is that it has only one ethernet port. Otherwise, it is working really well for me. Works perfectly with my Google Mesh network system, and allows me to fully utilize all the features of my Ring security system (my previous modem/router did not allow video from my Ring system).

  • Maximum performance for my Xfinity plan

The MB7621 is perfect for my situation. I get exactly the speeds I pay for, without overpaying for a “faster” more expensive new gigabit modem from the likes of Arris or Netgear which would have cost 4x more. Best of all, I am avoiding the $14 monthly equipment fee I was paying Xfinity.

  • Motorola MB7621 - good modem at a reasonable price

Easy to connect. Came alive as soon as Comcast registered it at their end. The original speed has definitely improved but not to the speed Comcast is charging me for. Will update after taking this up with Comcast. This is one of the modems in their approved list.

  • Good performer but Mediacom may throttle you back

Product performs well ... but .... I don't get full usage from all channels ... this could be the ISP, which is mediacom and they are horrible at most things ... I'm getting 20 not 24 up and 4 not 8 down. I'm not blaming motorola as I can't confirm from mediacom that they are throttling me back. So, be aware that 24 x 8 docsis 3.0 may not get fully utilized as most everyone is pushing towards docsis 3.1
