Trying to use new equipment with old system equipment is a challenge. My old Denon gave out and replacing it with a new on required wire connectors [HDMI] updates. Mainly I needed to bring my newer wall mounted HDMI-TV down to this room to attempt the set up this Denon. My existing TV has no HHMI and the aftermarket [HDMI to Component] cable I bought didn't work on the ARC. But getting past the set up the sound is good, and that is what I bought it for. One disappointment, this unit does not have "switched and unstitched' receptacles on the back.
