I downgraded from a MacBook Pro 2.53. It was cumbersome to use the bigger and heavier MB Pro. I first tried an iPad, but missed all the abilities of a full operating system and a real keyboard. This MB Air is about the same size. I don't do any complex music or video editing so this MacBook Air does everything I need and is certainly fast enough. With its solid state hard drive, it boots in seconds. It's easy to use it everywhere. It is incredibly thin and light. The battery life is great. This is nothing like a netbook. It has a full keyboard with the same feel as the MacBook pro, not like the cheap plastic feel of a netbook. The 1366 x 768 display is bright and the colors are accurate. This runs Windows 7 as fast as any laptop. On those rare occasions when I do need an optical drive, my cheap external drive works fine. It's much easier to store and share files using USB flash drive. I've had this a couple months and can't imagine using anything else.Read full review
Actually, I purchased the 1.6GHz, 128GB, 4GB MBA. It is the totally tricked out system for this model of the Mac Air. Speed of start up and operation is amazing. I almost hate to go back to my desktop and wait for it to load programs. I have attempted to overwhelm this computer by starting up every program on it and you would not know the lower speed processor was running. The SSD is the real difference maker for me. I am now sold on SSD drives and do not plan to get another computer without one. The speed of processing is extremely fast compared to the regular drive for Apple or PC. Screen is clear and sharp. Starts up in an instant if I close and open the laptop. Battery life is good if you do not run video. I have been able to run for a little over 5 hours while surfing the web having my screen brightness set at the lowest level and not running videos. If I do run or watch a video, it drains down in about 2 to 2.5 hours to where I need to recharge. So I usually will limit my video viewing to where I can be plugged into a power source. However if I am on a flight, I only have the video running with everything else closed. This allows me to watch for the whole flight. Software that comes with MBA is the standard Mac software. I decided to not load Garage Band to save on memory storage for the hard drive. I have the software on my Mac mini and Macbook so I do not need it on this one. Keyboard works great but took me a little getting used to since I am more used to the full PC keyboards. After using it for a while I have adjusted to the feel and touch. Many complain about not having a lighted keyboard but since I have never used one and am an excellent touch typist, I did not find this to be an issue. I plan to add Windows to this MBA and have about 40GB allocated for that. With proper management of the hard drive, I have all the main software except Garage Band and still have over 100GB available. So I do not think having Windows on this will hinder my use of the MBA. When I travel with this computer, the weight difference is noticeable. I also get a lot of comments at the security area of the airports I have traveled in that they ask me if they can take a quick look. This little power house will turn heads every where you take it. It quickly becomes the center of conversation when people see it. All in all, I have fallen in love with this machine and have it as my main computer both for travel and at home. I would highly recommend this to the person who is looking for a extremely light and fast laptop and are willing to pay the premium that it takes to get it. You will not be disappointed. I feel this has been a great investment and added that fun factor for my computing experience.Read full review

I got this core 2 duo MacBook for a great deal. The only issue with it is a battery needs a serious replacement but being the trained and certified personal device technician I am it is a breeze. This is a solid little notebook.

Hello! I had a lot of different laptops, but this just struck me! - Slim, compact (smaller than A4) - a beautiful display (Eyes are not tired) - very fast loading - Battery enough a long time I'm use it for listening to music, working on documents, surfing the Internet. What else to add ... perfect model, I am very pleased! If you are thinking about buying a MacBook Air 11,6 then not hesitate and buy!
everyone says mac is the best. i was bullied into it. needed a laptop but one that was going to make the grade. starting a small biz and wanted a place to load pictures and access the world wide interwebs. i scoured the sites and looked for the best deal. i could not let this one pass me by. a little skeptical buying used....man oh man - super tremendous deal! this mac is delicously light and starts like a top - no waiting - no loading - fantastic! a slight learning curve for a non mac user - but so worth it. when i make my first million i will upgrade to the mac book pro - but for now this baby will keep on humming. GRADE A - luv luv luv it!
My daughter use this laptop hardly in school and now in university. She loves it.

Expect damage. and not just a few scratches but actual dents. Regardless, everything functions as it should, and thats what really matters when buying a refurbished laptop under $400. i am happy with the purchase.

Bought it, because of its impression. Thin, light, comfortable. Manageable. I like everything. First, was afraid to switching to Mac, after all my life, have been using Windows, with a very big fanaticism of the Dell computers. But rest assure, that after knowing and working with Mac, there's no chance I'll go bat to Windows. Sorry Dell laptops. It can't compare to other products. It's far beyond, and in another level, that rest of laptops computers haven't even sensed, reached.
I was fed up with PCs, so I decided to get a Mac when my last PC quit on me. The Airbook is light and easy to use. I did have some minor confusion with the shortcuts but I was easily able to find a guide in the HELP file on the Airbook and on the Apple support site. There is an app that does everything I've wanted to do from my PC. Updating the Airbook and finding apps is super easy on the app store.
