About this product

Product Information

Sony's original shooter franchise sets its sights on PSP with a new perspective on the futuristic action. Instead of retaining the PlayStation 2 version's first-person perspective, the developers opted for a third-person view set behind the lead character. As the grizzled soldier known as Templar, players must rescue hostages imprisoned by the tyrannical General Metrac. Metrac's forces, which include killer canines and riot-shield equipped bodyguards, can be stopped using an assortment of high-powered weapons, ranging from sniper rifles to explosive-tipped crossbow bolts.

While Templar would be more than happy to go it alone, he will periodically be joined by computer-controlled teammates to help balance the odds. Orders can be assigned to AI teammates from a tactical command interface, and players can also drive vehicles such as tanks and hovercraft throughout the game's 16 missions. New abilities can be earned by engaging in special challenge games, many of which are designed to test a player's shooting skill. Ad-hoc wireless support is included for cooperative play with a friend or for six-player competitive battles on a choice of six maps.

  • A Very, Very Good PSP Game

Killzone: Liberation is an overhead, 3rd person shooter for the PSP. Not being an FPS, it may not fully appeal to fans of the original. The idea of making it an overhead shooter does work, though. The only problem is that everything appears so small on the little screen. Despite this, the graphics are amazing for the PSP. From the overhead perspective, you get to see the enemy approach from all sides and the audio is great so that you hear their distinctive voices and the explosions and gunshots. Playing the game can be a little difficult. It takes a while to figure out how to get your character to aim in just the direction you want him to. There is an autoaim that works somewhat well but you can't always count on it. In some parts, you get to have a 'teammate' who you can order ...

  • Not for the uncoordinated

I have never played the original Killzone but it's fairly easy to catch on to the story. The game itself has some fairly good duck and shoot mechanics. It takes a little while to figure out how to get from place to place without getting killed but you'll get it. I especially like the supply depot mechanic. The game designers seem to place these things exactly where you need them and nowhere else so that you can trade off guns and get health but don't get too complacent. I do feel that I need to mention something about the difficulty. I'm playing this game on normal and I feel that I'm pretty good at video games but this game can be HARD. It's usually pretty challenging and you will find yourself restarting from checkpoints a lot, but some parts make you feel like the game designers have a ...

  • Killzone Liberation Is An Awesome Game!

Killzone Liberation is currently one of the best games for the PSP. What makes it even better is that you can pick up a copy for less than $15, and believe me, its worth it. Killzone Liberation is a "top-down shooter" you look down from above, and your character targets enemies automatically. The auto aim might sound like it would make the game too easy, but trust me, when there are 5 enemy soldiers firing rockets and bullets and chucking grenades at you, it gets nasty. The story in Killzone Liberation is decent, but not THAT great. You basically are a soldier who is sent to protect people and take down key figures in the enemy alien army. In the story mode, you do get to do some awesome stuff like hijack an enemy tank and go on a rampage, but most of the time you just are fighting your ...

  • Killzone on psp

I really like this game and would recommend you guys to buy it. Its a nostalgic game for me and i really enjoyed it. For a killzone psp game, its really well made and the gameplay is great. Unfortunately, the online is dead, but still a great campaign :)
