When the merchant did not match the description
I came to E-bay to look for a brand new cordless phone with 4 handsets at relative lower price than in store. I found one which seemed a new one, and I asked the seller about the condition and was told "brand new" Then I purchased it. But the phone I received was used, all four handsets surface were worn out and has some scratches. I contacted the seller through seller's personal E-mail and described the phone condition and asked him whether he shiped wrong one to me. The seller replied to me, he believed that I meant he was a "liar" even I did not say the word. I was not trying to critique anyone, I just needed a solution. I turned to E-bay for solution. Return was not good solution because I might spend over 30 dollars on shipping (ship to me and return to seller) and there was nothing ... I came to E-bay to look for a brand new cordless phone with 4 handsets at relative lower price than in store. If you received something that does not match its description, you may be able to get it resolved through E-bay customer center if you do not mind the time to be spent and some sunk cost. 2. Sometime, the seller may not know the real condtion of their product because they receive them from someone else then sell to you (per seller's comments), thus you have to be careful, low price may not be alway "free lunch" 3. E-bay is a "marketplace" like physical store, you may have good experience, or bad experience. You can return most of merchant to a physical store without cost you penny, but you can not get full refund when you buy via E-bay or other similar site. 4. Be careful any description on seller's page, not matter it is in large or small font.

Vtech mi6896 5.8 GHz Trio 1-Line Cordless Phone
This is our second Vtech set.....very reliable with great range. Having four phones placed strategically throughout the house is a plus. Pager capability is great for finding the phones teens don't replace on the charger. Answering machine has great feature as well

Great for installing around the house. Love the phone. Affordable. Pros: - clear - loud (volume adjustable) - speakerphone - intercom function - different ringtones - programmable / reprogrammable - cheap; found all over ebay - reasonable battery life - batteries are cheap (on ebay) - call display Cons: - limited to 4 phones only (i think) - too little memory for contacts in address book (doesn't hold enough!) - annoying to scroll through each name in address book -- especially if you have a lot of contacts whose names start with the same letter - little annoying to change settings (takes a while) - phone resets when power disconnects (displays "CL" -- similar to flashing 12:00 on old VCRS)Great for installing around the house. Vtech 4 cordless phones Model MI6896
All phones stopped working at same time. Customer service support was not available and online support very poor. I changed batteries and still had same problem, all phones went dead at same time. I had to purchase complete new phone system. Will not buy a Vetech product again.

What I like about the Vtech Mi6896 is that it is durable, and tough when handled. Small enough to fit with in the hand, but not so large that it is cumbersome. If I could remake the unit, I would tone down the luminosity (brightness) of the "in-use & charge lights on the base. The reason I bought this unit is because it receives and transmits a strong audio signal, even over extended distances. Additionally, the price for such a unit was "sweet."What I like about the Vtech Mi6896 is that it is durable, and tough when handled.
