I purchased this to replace an old audio cassette version owned for many years. It has proved a very satisfactory acquisition. The sound quality is very good and provides an all round enjoyable listening experience. I have no hesitation in recommending this recording as excellent value and very competitively priced.
Good value for the money. And very funny.

The Blood donor is one of the funniest sketches and with a fantastic cast the timing and jokes stand the test of time. I heard the sketch on LP over 35 years ago and still find it as fresh today as then. I have listened numerous times over the years and I am almost word perfect but if I put it on tomorrow I would still laugh even while writing this I am smiling remembering parts of the sketch. The scottish Doctors comment we are not all Rob Roys when Tony trys to speak in a scottish answer and the comment that blood bank are like normal banks you put it in when you are a bit flushed and draw it out when you need it.If you have never heard the blood donor I would recommend this to anybody and I am sure you will have found a new comedian great. Radio Ham sketch yet another great piece more with Tony on his own speaking to people all over the world from his bed sit. Even though like the Blood Donor I have listenened to this numerous times the build up and the final outcome still have me in stitches. Tony Hancock a comic genius and a sad loss when he still had more to offer and I would suggest if you want to buy somebody something different for Christmas or for a birthday you might give this CD a try.Read full review
Not got this cd? Have you gone raving mad?! Whether or not (like me) you've previously owned a vinyl of this, this is a must have cd! This is classic Hancock on a specially recorded studio version of the TV episodes of the same name. Arguably the greatest comic actor of the 20th century, Hancock puts current aspirants to his mantle firmly in the shade. With his peerless timing and working with wonderful scripts by Galton and Simpson, Hancock was and remains one of the true giants of the comedy world. I defy anyone not to roar with laughter on hearing these gems and if you've not heard them before, you'll soon be quoting the famous lines from them along with fans the world over. ENJOY!!! Tony Hancock is a comedy legend and The Blood Donor and The Radio Ham are the VERY BEST he has done. This is comedy as it used to be,not the modern comedy that is difficult to find funny.
TONY HANCOCK WAS 1 OF THE BEST COMEDIENS OF THE 50S AND 60S BEFORE HIS UNTIMLY DEATH IN 1968, THE BLOOD DONOR WAS 1 OF MANY HALF HOUR SHOWS HE RECORDED, BUT I THINK THE RADIO HAM IS THE BEST ONE OF THE TWO
Even after all these years, Hancock's Half Hour stands as one of the finest examples of British comedy. Featuring the two most famous Half Hours ever, this CD is a wonderful introduction to the humour of Tony Hancock. Also featuring classic comedians like Sid James, Kenneth Graham and Hattie Jaques, this CD deserves pride of place in any comedy collection.
a hancock classic, a comedy genius at his best, the brilliant writing of galton and simpson, makes this sketch a 'never to be missed' one
