About this product

Product Information

Acclaim Sports' baseball franchise continues with All-Star Baseball 2003, which features a new Franchise Mode and option for Expansion Play, allowing players to select a city, team logo, and ballpark before drafting from a list of unprotected players from the 30 existing teams. Players can then take their created team through 20 consecutive seasons in an attempt to build a dynasty. During the franchise, players will lose athletes to injury, free agency, trades, and retirement, but rookies can be called up from the minor leagues to help fill the vacancies.

Also making their first appearance are baseball cards, licensed by Donruss, which can be collected, traded, and used to unlock certain features such as throwback uniforms, classic teams, and legendary players. To open a pack of six cards, players trade in points earned from achieving certain milestones during a game. Three types of stand-alone trivia games are included as well, with two teams challenging each other through a series of questions. Each correct answer results in a type of hit, while an incorrect answer results in an out. The player with the highest score at the end of nine innings wins the trivia contest.

Returning modes of play include Exhibition, Season, All-Star Game, Home Run Derby, and Batting Practice. The action is called by a three-man team of Thom Brennaman, Steve Lyons, and Bob Brenly as players bat and throw using signature stances and deliveries. The batter-pitcher interface is once again cursor based, adjusted to reflect each player's performance during the 2002 season. In addition to all 30 teams and stadiums from 2002, players can opt to play in eight classic or ten fantasy stadiums. A Cooperstown team is also available, featuring such stars as Reggie Jackson and Yogi Berra.

Shipped a 20 year old piece of electronics in a bubble mailer because the PlayStation 2 that was described as “works great” was being sold for parts or repair with no regard for any additional damages in the soft packaging. May have withheld the fact that the unit was previously refurbished. It’s hard to say because that story changed. My least favorite interaction with this seller was when I told them I hadn’t opened the package and wanted to return it and they accused me of theft. Buyer beware

We apologize that we could not accept the return. We sold this item “as is” because as you can see in the photos, it was already opened up and the seal was already broken. The bubble mailer we used was very high quality with large bubbles. We sent 2 other ones out like this and had no complaints. We wish you hadn’t refused to open it and actually see that the item arrived in the condition described. We’re certain it did. Be blessed, Dan & Tonya

We apologize profusely that you were unaware. We were in vacation mode on eBay from the 14th to the 27th. When in vacation mode eBay puts a notification on all our listings as well as in shopping cart at time of purchase to let buyers know. We’re glad you are happy with your item, and apologize again that you weren’t aware we were on vacation.

The All-Star Baseball series (Nintendo and PlayStation) was one of the greatest sports and baseball video game series to ever be produced. From the realistic gameplay to the graphics and controls, this series is ranked in my top 10 video game series of all time. The bonus here is that my favorite baseball player, Derek Jeter, endorsed the series (he now endorses the MLB 2K series found on Playstation, XBOX, and some Nintendo formats). Say what you will about people endorsing things for the money, but Jeter would never endorse a horrible product. I have been playing the real sport of baseball since I was five and I have always had a great experience playing the All-Star and 2K series games.

  • it was a good game

i like it it was a good games and it was no mark on it i hope i can buy more thing from u all have a good day

  • not in the pennant race

not one of the best in baseball...certainly not an all star...much better to go with an EA sports tile like MLB...had a better time with sega's all star game back in the day
