I really like Sims games. It is different than the PS2 genre, more things to buy in the Build/ Buy mode. I'd recommend it to anyone who likes these types of games. i love buying new furniture & wallpaper. I'd give it a great rating for entertainment. Kids can play this as it is less violent than others. I have other games of this genre.

If there was any confusion about what you're getting with the Sims 3 on Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3, let me clear it up for you: it's the Sims 3, the extremely popular PC life simulator, but on consoles. Obviously the game has been reworked to function with controllers instead of a mouse and keyboard, but there's also one other major addition: Karma Powers, a potent way to help or harm your Sims. If you're a fan of the Sims series, chances are you already own this game on your PC, but on the off chance that you don't, the console version is a good substitute. The addictive formula that worked on PCs translates well to consoles, and you may find yourself neglecting your own needs to make sure your starving Sim gets some food. The controls may seem complicated at first, but the game does a fine job of easing you into the experience with its tutorial system. Once you get the hang of it, it's really quite easy.Read full review
I liked the SIMS when it came out on PS. I also got it, for my girlfriend, when SIMS 2 came out on PS2. I loved SIMS 2 just because you actually control your sim. no more point and clicking to get them to do something. You would just walk up to an item and press x to see the options. Unfortunately, the reverted to the original for SIMS 3. I don't like that aspect, but it's a minor detraction for an otherwise good game. The options in this installment are plentiful. If you can think it, you can pretty much to it in the sims. I like the game alot. First night i spent a good 4 hours that flew by. There are a few more things that keep this game form being great. First of is a co-op mode. Playstation 2 had it for SIMS 2 but PS3 doesn't for SIMS 3. But I guess that seems necessary for the old control scheme. Another grip, as is my grip with every SIMs game. Once you get a career, there is little time for anyhting else. SO, even thought there is a robust town that your sims can explore, you never have time for it. Just wish that my sim would saty clean enough, or full enough to wander the streets of simville. Other than that, I must say that it's a very good game.Read full review
Downs: Cannot import PC creations, only console to console creations (XBOX to PS3, visa versa), limited graphic capabilities, limited interface options, loading times, limited creation opportunities, frame rate shutters on the regular. Limited everything, hey it is a console game, what is new... Ups: A decent representation of The Sims in a new way. I had never played The Sims on a console before, and I gave it a shot. It is worthwhile mainly because you can take The Sims with you, play on a bigger tv, etc. etc. There was opportunity to make it better, but hey you get PS3 trophies and it is something different if you have never played a console version! Overall: If you enjoy The Sims in any form or regularity, it is worthwhile (Anything Below $35). I do recommend finding it new or if it is used, make sure that the registration for the online portion of the game, The Exchange (download custom creations, share, etc.) has not been used. Otherwise you will pay $10 to get it activated through PSN. Hopefully this has helped in your decision, I am pretty good at diagnosing games just by the box, and I was right on the money. These impressions are just from playing it for under an hour.Read full review
