It's not as grippy as I'd like, but I read somewhere to scuff the smooth parts with sandpaper to add texture/ grip. I also read not to tighten too much due to the plastic threads. By taking that caution, it still spins some. Even after tightening to what I thought was enough. I also read that some thread lock may help this issue. But it seems like a lot more modifying to a new item than ideal.
