I gave this game a high rating. Of course this is only applicable if you enjoy the DW series and game play. The creators of this title have done a nice job of adding a fresh twist to the tried and true (repetitious) style of game play, that you will either hate or love. There is and interesting leveling system and the potential for many hours of replay value. The idea is to accept missions located on a bulletin board in your village. These missions can range from the mundane (killing bandits) to the extraordinary (slaying dragons and other such mythical beasts). Upon completing missions your character will gain experience and level up. The real fun however is the loot dropped by your vanquished opponents. The purpose of the loot is to gain new abilities for your characters and their weapons. So far I really only have two complaints (small map sizes and no create a character, other than this I have found the game to be thoroughly enjoyable and would recommend it to any one who enjoys the Dynasty Warrior series.Read full review
The game seemed to take as many steps back as it did forward in this iteration. The things it finally got right was the insane amount of customizable items and weapons in the game instead of doing weird missions to get a final weapon only to not like its attributes. The targeting feature is something I would have rather they did without, with characters jumping all over etc.. thanks to the fury mode it loses a lot of its use. Another downside is the fact that they scraped the 2 player split screen altogther for the 4 player online option. Don't get me wrong, the online multiplayer option was a much needed addition to the series but for all of those who don't have internet or a gold account on their 360, so sorry so sad. Lastly, the Instruction book leaves more info that u need about the game out of the book than it actually puts in. They might as well not have included a book at all.Read full review
I have no idea what koei was trying to do with this dynasty warriors sequel. It is just terrible. I mean the combat is boring and repetitive. You can only fight with your officers. No gate-captains? Are you serious? This game is just terrible compared to the sequels. I mean The graphics got worse??!?!?! How does that happen? Its harder to control characters and fighting is just terrible. I mean I kill 1000 soldiers in one area and they keep re-spawning? Really? This is just down right horrendous. I hope the next has multiplayer cause yes that's the only plus and I like how its an mmorpg. But it failed at trying to be that. I mean yeah its more fun with other people but you can't keep a connection with them ever. I mean I have high speed internet and I never disconnected in other games but this one its every single time. Sorry but this Dynasty warriors is crap. I own every single one and the very first one that came out is an arcade fighter and its more fun than this one. I'm disgusted.Read full review

This game is exciting and very addicting, i love the stories behind it and it does make it harder on levels and there is so many options and different things you can do this time around compared to the last few games, i would strongly suggest that you won't be disappointed.
