Disney's Bird Movie response to "Chicken Run"
This movie was entertaining enough but such an obvious attempt to try and capture the audience for the Aardman Entertainment's "Chicken Run". Formulaic story: It's got the world war two angle, the misfit band, the plucky hero, oh, and it's all the way into Scotland instead of just norther England like the Chicken Run setting. There are some definitely funny bits, and it by no means sucks, so for the few bucks I paid for it, I got my entertainment value out of it, but I'm not going to be quoting it or reciting it with friends like I do with that other movie, because there's nothing original except that the characters are all birds, and a few other random animals.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

Made by a relatively unknown company, Vanguard Productions, Disney was quick to pick it up, which speaks volumes for the quality of this title. You'll love the little pigeon who yearns to "do his bit" and fight for his country, the old veteran who runs the local drinking hole and the general revival of old-fashioned values. Nostalgic in the kind of patriotism we don't see anymore, this is a touching film for adults as well.
