Product Information

Sega's signature tennis series appears for the first time on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 with Virtua Tennis 3. As in previous versions, players are free to create a male or female athlete and build his or her attributes through an event-filled career. The goal is to gradually improve your character's ranking by competing in sanctioned tournaments held across the globe. In between tournaments, players can participate in skill-oriented mini-games or train at a tennis academy. The mini-games in particular are just as wacky as in earlier titles, with players attempting to outwit aliens, alligators, and more by hitting targets as quickly and as accurately as possible.<br><br>Featured play modes include World Tour, Tournament, Exhibition, and Court Games, where up to four players can compete in their choice of doubles, mixed doubles, or singles play. Twenty professional tennis stars are available to play as or against, including such notables as Andy Roddick, Maria Sharapova, Amélie Mauresmo, and Roger Federer. Characters will compete in a variety of international venues, with clay, grass, hard court, and carpet surfaces all influencing shots in realistic ways. Online support is included for the Xbox 360 version, while the PS3 game uses the Sixaxis controller's tilt function for both movement and swings.

The disc arrived sooner than expected which was a pleasant surprise! It was well packed and in very good physical condition as listed. I put it on that night and it played flawlessly for 55mins but would go no further. Whoever sold it to them didn't tell them it had a manufacturing defect - very sneaky. Seller refunded my money quickly and I ordered another copy elsewhere. I had a problem with the movie Billy Budd last year where I ordered it 3x and couldn't get a playable copy.

    Classic tennis game.

    If your a tennis lover, you'll be addicted to this game. I had this game for awhile and still love playing.my favorite modes are tournament mode and season mode, those alone will get you hooked. Great value as well. You won't be disappointed with this buy.

    Pretty fun game

    I like this game pretty good. The graphics of the environment and the players are pretty accurate, and most of the minigames are fun as well. Some of the weaknesses of this game are the lack of playable characters, no commentators during matches, some of the shots that this game allows you to pull off are unrealistic. I mean you can have 50 to 100 shot rallies before either you or your opponent finally lose a point and that's not realistic. You shouldn't be able to dive and save every shot that is behind you or ten feet away. Otherwise it is an entertaining game even for people who may not be big tennis fans. I'd recommend this game for people who don't want to fork out 40 or 50 bucks for the newly released tennis virtua 2009 but still want to have fun. Also, I think they should add ...

    Virtua Tennis 3 PS3

    Virtua Tennis 3 graphically looks really great. The different difficulty levels do make this game a challenge. Graphics look great, variety is good, and replay value is high for any tennis player out there. But there are two negatives to this game. The first being the lack of variety in making your own character. You are really limited to how your character looks. It would be nice if I could create someone that looks like Sub-Zero or Neo. Just imagine a ninja serving up aces. That would be fun to watch and play! Second downfall is the most disappointing. There is no online play with this game. You can't take your newly formed character and challenge people online. You're stuck in the game and that's where you'll stay. Other than that, it's a great game and worth the few bucks.

    pretty fun game

    This is actually really fun for a tennis game, even if you aren't a tennis fan. This is by far the best tennis series on the market. It's not weighed down by gimmicky controls or complex gameplay but still manages to have a certain amount of depth with career mode and building your created players stats. It also has quite a few mini games that are fun to play, which is also one of the ways you train your created player. The new Virtua Tennis 2009 comes out in a day so if you're looking for a tennis game and not wanting to spend 60 bucks on it, this is you're best option.

    Stays true to Virtua tennis 1 and 2

    I liked it and thought it was a very good game....I own both Virtua tennis 1 and Virtua Tennis 2 and think this is the best game of the three...The graghics aren't too spectacular for a PS3 game, but the game play and sheer fun of making a player and getting him/her up to the higher levels and winning masters all which lead up to the final bout in some remote location on a huge boat is real exhilarating...LACKS ONLINE PLAY which is very upsetting other wise a great game and definitely worth picking up if you can get it around $25 -May 13th 2008
