One of the great, first movies of any director.
It's hard to believe this was the first effort of any director. In 1992 Tarantino unveiled this masterpiece, catching the movie industry off guard. In a time when films were stagnant this was a breath of fresh air. Instead of going for flash Tarantino assemebled an amazing array of underappreciated actors to portray his film noir band of tough guys. With a perfect blend of witty dialogue, gunplay, and other creative violence Tarantino sculpted a masterful modern crime story. I cannot recommend this movie highly enough. While most people point to Pulp Fiction as Taratino's best effort I prefer the stripped down simplicity of Reservoir Dogs. Even after 15 years the film still holds up, one could bevieve it was filmed in the past year. The 15th anniersary tin packaging ... It's hard to believe this was the first effort of any director. Quentin Tarantino's breakthrough Directing effort, and he remakes the "City on Fire" Action movie from Hong Kong in the 1980's. Tarantino DOES make the film a much better action/thriller/suspense caper than the City on Fire. The characters are the most pronounced improvement. The cinematography is superior, albeit economical. Few sets, long takes, etc., help Tarantino get by in his debut. This movie is a "cult classic" and has many, numerous followers and fans, so I decided to buy this and see for myself.
