Sega's "Shining" franchise beams onto PlayStation 2 for the first time in this release. Viewed from an isometric perspective, the colorful, swords-and-sorcery themed game world is home to anime-inspired heroes and villains. Unlike in earlier titles, such as the Shining Soul and Shining Force games, battles play out in real-time. Players take the role of a young soldier named Xion who awakes in the middle of an ongoing war with no memory of his past. Xion is always joined by a companion as he enters a fight, but which characters decide to team up with him can depend on decisions he makes as he moves through the game's story.

A blast from the past, but better? I think so.
Shining Tears is the title, made by Sega. It was a breath of fresh air for me. I was getting tired of all the same old rpgs.The pros for this game are: a bunch of characters, customizable weapons, many skills to use, two player action which is one of the best functions of the game, and there are many more that i can't remember to list. Okay now for the cons: graphics can be a little better than this but no biggy, the AI player on single player mode can be really stupid and can get you into big trouble, not enough inventory space and the fact that you can't get into your inventory while you are on a mission, takes to long to level all of your characters up, i can go on but i am going to stop because i really like the direction this game was going. Not what I was expecting
This game is totally not what I was expecting. I own others in the Shining series including Neo and Exa and it is nothing like them. The game is very slow and the controls are weak at best. Too many load sequences.
