Good seller and well packaged, shipped/delivered quickly. The PRODUCT is, in my opinion, not heavy duty as box describes. Not the thick heavy pumice that we used to get from the hardware store. Also, this is no longer made in USA, but China. Since we use these frequently and they get used up quickly, we'll just purchase less expensive pumice in bulk. Would purchase from seller again, just not this item.

Product matched description and came in original packaging. Very reasonable shipping price. Package arrived on back end of ETA, but I blame that more on USPS. I would order from this seller again.

convert that old 6 volt lantern

With its no polarity construction it can be used in the big, yellow 6 volt square battery flashlights. This bulb will allow much longer battery life with the same light output. Don't toss these old work horses. Between this LED bulb and the converter that allows you to use D cell batteries instead of the too expensive 6 volt monolith battery - you have a flashlight forever

May use a lot less energy than the tungsten bulb, but......

I knew going in that at 40 lumens, it may not be real bright, and it's true. Even though the beam is well focused, the light is weak and on the blue side (which is the default color for LED's). I'm sure it uses like 1/4th the power than the filament bulb it replaced, but at much less light output too. I'm using a 6V sealed lead-acid rechargeable spring top battery to run it too. These batteries slam out a full 6 volts. Ya, they need to make a bulb with more lumens IMO. I'd avoid this one. No problem with seller though.

  • Easy Replacement for Older Candescent Bulb. No White "Square"

Straight replacement for older candescent bulb. No issues it dropped right in to standard slot. Not a lot brighter, but its white and holds a tight beam. Does not project a "light square" like older LEDs used to do.

  • Very nice retrofit for older flashlights and 6V lanterns...

I got this to retrofit, believe it or not, an '80s-era Eveready Energizer 3/D-cell flashlight I bought as N.O.S. (new old stock) on eBay a few weeks back - and I couldn't be more pleased with my investment! These LED's are not only quite a bit brighter, but also they draw just 1/2-watt of power and produce up to about 40 lumens - as stated on the package. The spot quality is very good, too, and very solid. My flashlight I bought appears to be about 35 years old, but that LED I installed for use in it makes my light look more up to date - despite it being an older design. And as anyone else would do, I use my light to see my way down the hillside between my house and my elderly father's place after dark - and the light works very nicely for that purpose. Time will tell on whether or ...

  • Excellent replacement

This bulb is an excellent exact-fit replacement for the standard incandescent 6 volt flashlight/lantern. While visually comparing brightness is usually not precise, I can honestly say that it is at lest twice as bright (if not more) than a stock incandescent bulb. The color is near-white with fresh batteries, which adds to the visual acuity of the light. The bulb has a somewhat tight beam pattern, but does has a useful fall-off allowing the lantern’s optics to create useful area lighting outside the main beam. The bulb was installed in a Star 2002 Railroad Lantern which has been upgraded from a 6 volt lantern battery to 4 D-cell alkaline batteries. The addition of this bulb is a serious upgrade not only in the performance of the light, but also in bulb survivability and ...
