Best Math book for our family
Saxon Math is organized well with its chapters. Its easy to direct my child to where they might find the answer to a missed question rather than me just hovering and fixing it myself. The chapters are simple for children to understand to support a more independent learning style. We love the traditional Saxon Math.

Saxon Math is a great tool for any student
Saxon Math 5/4 is an awesome product. Each lesson builds on the previous lessons to ensure that the student has a very good understanding of the concepts. As a homeschooling parent I use Saxon Math products as a basis for math for each of our 4 home schooled children. Saxon produces the text book, companion teachers manual(s) (be sure to note if it is a volume 1 and if there is a volume two that you will need to purchase) and also the worksheet pages. These can be purchased new as a set or if buying used you will probably be purchasing them all separate. I currently have three different levels and all of our students are progressing very well with Saxon Math.Saxon Math 5/4 is an awesome product. Excellent math curriculum
The Saxon program starts in the early grades and the concepts spiral throughout the series and grade levels. This means that instead of the traditional drill and kill of 30 math problems that are the same, the lessons have multiple kinds of problems daily. The problems also have "hints" of where to refer in the book if you can't remember how to do the problem. This is so helpful for parents, not only the kids!! There are supplemental problem sets available in the back of the book for concepts such as long division or other things that need more drill and kill. Saxon Math Books
As a professional educator, I have taught with the Saxon Math curriculum for 4 years. I have found the writing clear and concise. The examples are easy for students to understand and follow along. There is frequent review of topics throughout the program. If possible, students are able to work ahead at their own rate of learning. As a principal, I find that the teachers and students appreciate the way that Saxon continues to build concept upon concept. I highly recommend the Saxon Math program for both home school, private, and public education. Drawbacks - There are times when more practice on the objective are needed. Saxon is a great math program.
Saxon math is a great program. In the past, I've used it for several different grade levels in my classroom. My students' scores would rise more than any other math program I've used.
