    great book must read for star wars fans.

    This book is from the New Jedi Academy trilogy that came out right after the Thrawn trilogy. This book is great because it introduces the reader to several of the main players in the Star Wars universe. You meet Kyp Durron a padawan in this book who like Anakin is very tempted by the dark side due to his past. Durron was found by Han Solo on the prison colony on Kessel. You also get to meet Exar Kuhn and find out why he was so feared thousand of years ago by the entire jedi oreder. This is a must read and you will need the other two books for the story to make sense.

    Okay expansion on the story

    It is star wars, and it has fun characters, especially if you like jedi trainees. There's cool parts to the story but sometimes feels...pointless outside of this series besides the talk of light sabers and stuff. Characters and story progress slightly less than other series and is far from the worst star wars.

    Jedi Academy is real Star Wars, based on the original complete saga.

    I already knew it was a great story. Luke fulfills Yoda's command to 'pass on what you have learned'. My copy was just falling apart, which is because I read the story again and again. So I got this replacement (no Legends banner as I wanted it to match the rest of the trilogy). This is real Star Wars. It's a fun adventure with great heroes.

    A nice read for an afternoon in the Star Wars Galaxy

    Dark Apprentice is the second book in the Jedi Academy series written by Kevin Anderson. It was published in 1994 by Bantam Spectrum books. Kevin J. Anderson's Jedi Academy Trilogy continues in Dark Apprentice. The story continues to follow Luke Skywalker as he continues to teach his first group of apprentices at his newly-formed Jedi Academy on Yavin IV. Meanwhile, Admiral Daala of the Imperial fleet mounts a massive campaign against the New Republic, using guerilla warfare to strike. The Admiral also has a Death Star prototype at her disposal. All of our Star Wars favorites return, including Han Solo and his wife, High Councillor Leia Organa-Solo, Chewbacca, Lando Calrissian and C-3PO and R2-D2.
