Probot's self-titled debut

For those of you who haven't heard, you should buy this album! Probot is a collection of songs recorded by different vocalists from early metal and hardcore bands. The majority of the album is written by Dave Grohl (Foo Fighters, Nirvana) with instrumentation by Dave Grohl as well (and all instruments are also played by Dave). This album will effectively take you on a trip through various sounds and moods but nevertheless this album is heavy rock, and it's good. As alluded to by Grohl himself in the liner notes, this album attempts to acheive a masterful use of "the riff" which, as you will realize, the album does to near perfection. Heavy, straightforward guitar as well as Grohl's signature drumming style abound in this album. From the booming lead-in to the album's first track you ...
