I messaged them on a Saturday, and by Sunday I received a response. They shipped me out a new battery at no cost, and just had me keep the malfunctioning one. The second one works great! it was a brand new OEM battery made by Celxprt (the original manufacturer of the Lenovo battery), and checking in HWINFO, i verified that the battery is indeed unused.
