    Excellent Value

    Not sure why some of the ratings are low. Perhaps people do not know what CPU capabilities are. It is not a gaming computer, it is a great laptop for everyday use and does what is advertised to do. Good graphics for watching HD movies, decent processing speed for Core I3, and good battery life. Only negative which has more to do with the large screen size is a bit heavy. Great for surfing, watching movies, and home office applications. Great for students, biz, and light engineering applications with large 1 TB hard drive. On the plus side is the laptop is up gradable you can do yourself like a solid state hard drive and memory expansion. Gamers need not apply.

    It's OK, but...

    The laptop is good, but... Backlight on keyboard worked just 2-3 days. Yesterday tested for the first time the DVD and it's dead too, doesen't read the disc with Photos. Now i need to find what part number of DVD to order it separatly and will try to repaid the backlight.

    Works well and meets my needs

    This laptop is one of a number of Acer computers that I've had over the years and all of them have been machines that worked well and did what I wanted them for. I got this new laptop because it has a faster processor and more RAM than my "old" laptop, and I wanted something as fast as current technology permits without spending an arm and a leg on it. This machine fit the bill: fairly fast at a reasonable price. I've always been happy with Acer computers and this laptop's no exception. As the title of this review says, this laptop works well and meets my needs.

    "i3 that works as good or better than i5..."

    I'm a non-tech retired guy. I replaced a reasonably good i5 laptop with this unit after reading reviews and seeing it priced at $350! It worked fine out of the fast free shipped box. Even I managed to put an additional 4gb memory in it, again after reading many reviews. Now I've got a $375 machine that has a terabit hard drive and does all I need with ease!

    Meeting Two 'Old-New' Friends

    We've had a pair of this same laptop for several years but they are showing signs of slowing down and being sluggish. It was time to replace them. My wife feels comfortable with her Acer. These laptops have been dependable and provide fast memory, "UltraFast: wireless, and beautiful 1080 HD quality displays.
