These grips seem well made, heavy, and like the ad says a little thicker than stock grips....For my smaller hands I wish they made a set of "thin line" grips...overall worth the money, and I want the black horn ones now, ha!

Colt Government Model Buffalo Bone Grips
Great fit, great polish, really a quality product. I would unhesitatingly recommend these grips to anyone. They are heavier than an equivalent set of elephant ivory grips but appear to be tough as nails and well able to stand up to the rigors of day to day use. They are true gun porn for the firearms enthusiast.

I have a collected a small amount of 1911's over the years. I even have a 1911, Super 38. I would like to put these grips on all of them. I'm retired now and have to buy them as I can afford them. These are reasonably priced and beautiful. I was looking for ivory looking grips that didn't have the plastic look. Some might not think these look like ivory but in my opinion, they do. They are well-made, solid, heavy grips that look like they would stand up to daily use. I bought 3 sets for a start on making my collection more attractive.
