  • ELIZABETH X TWO! 👑👑

BETTE'S FIRST PORTRAYAL OF ELIZABETH I IN "THE PRIVATE LIVES OF ELIZABETH & ESSEX,C.1939 IS THE FAR SUPERIOR FILM!👑 16 YEARS BEFORE THIS ONE C.1955 WHICH ACTUALLY IS AN OK FILM IN IT'S OWN RIGHT!🎥

  • Good film from Bette Davis' career in the mid-50s.

I'm a Bette Davis fan and try to have as many of her films as I can in my collection (24 total). She played Queen Elizabeth I twice: "The Private Lives of Elizabeth and Essex" (1939) and "The Virgin Queen" (1955). Interesting to see her portrayal of the same character at different stages in her career sixteen years apart.

  • The Virgin Queen

Another must for fans! Makes you have to research the time and keep larning about Elizabeth I, as these movies aren't exactly accurate. Wonderful period piece and a great story.

  • The Virgin Queen

Bette Davis is an incredible Queen Elizabeth. It's not really my style of movie, but I did enjoy it.
