  • a disappoinment

Touted as the "First D&D RTS Game", Dragonshard certainly brings some new fare to a genre that can often seem rote. The "D&D" aspect of this game should be addressed before delving further. Based in the new D&D campaign world of Eberron, the graphics, storyline and overall feel of the game certainly captures the unique flavor of the campaign setting and gives a sense of the depth found in it. Unfortunately, that is by and large where the "D&D" in the title ends. If you can get past that in the hope of finding a fun game underneath, and are willing to engage the necessity of learning an RTS in which knowledge of the D&D game system will fail to help you with in the least, you may find yourself both entertained and perhaps a bit addicted. Graphically the game is well done and holds much in ...

  • Amazing Game That I'd Think 85 - 90% Fantasy Strategists Would Enjoy.

This is a really great game, in a "fantasy strategy" genre. You have a choice of three armies, each have basically compatible units though with some minor differences. There are options for a storyline, skirmish, and online game. (I have not played it online.) Each army allows you to choose a single main champion from among four choices. Battle takes place on a surface layer (fields, forests, swamps), and underground (dungeons, caverns). I enjoyed this game so much that I bought a second copy after I couldn't find the discs to the one owned. If I find those discs, I'll play head-to-head with my best friend.

  • THE FIRST DUNGEONS AND DRAGONS RTS! AN EBERRON SETTING!

D&D in a path-y way laid the groundwork for toda's RTS's. An RTS is turn based - just it's set to auto-turn and the dice to auto-role and the year is now 2005. Further, recalling way back into a day, the imaginative virtual realities that D&D provided long before Super Massive came along are becoming as sweet memories of the way the universe once was. It will be interesting to see what the designers have done that is familiar to other RTS and those things that are special to the game. Bottom Line - for Dungeons and Dragons to come out on PC in an RTS in the Year 2005 is tantamount to a (DM's) treat from the Dieties and Demigods. It was on my list quicker than a 1 sided die roles a 1, it is no cul-de-sac it is a thru street, so am pleased to give it such a super rating! More details? Check ...

just finished playing this game, this game has nothing to do wIth role playing this game reminded me of the orc's and human games and war craft, i expected it to be like the other d and d games are, but them if you like strategy games like star craft or war craft then this game might make it for you, this game was really small and easy to beat, i played it though in just 3 half days,I GIVE IT A THUMBS DOWN A BIG THUMBS DOWN....I WOULD SAY DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY ON IT LIKE I DID, IT WAS A WASTE OF MY 30 DOLLARS TO BUY IT NEW :) HAVE A PEACHY DAY GAME PLAYERS..............
