    small pills fall out

    The mechanism on this is great. But the mouth of the unit is so wide that pills just fall out so you have to keep it upright until you actually tip it into the pet's mouth. I tightened the opening up wrapping a little bit of clear packing tape around it and it seems to do better. I hope that will continue to work because the the tip that pushes the pill out in a positive definitive way just works great.

    Love this item

    I've bought a few of these over the years and nothing else works as well. I love it because you can stuff it with multiple pills at a time; no need to do one at a time! The only downside is if the dog bites down on it, the tube will crack. But the good news is that it cracks but doesn't completely break apart so you can still use it until you get another one. I find the trick is when you insert it in the dogs mouth slide the tube down the side of the tongue to the back of the throat quickly, then dispense; don't push tube down the center of tongue to the back of the throat. It's more pleasant for the dog because they won't gag or choke and less likely to chomp down on the tube.

    Not helpful for small dogs.

    Too large for small dogs, Apaquel is too small for applicator and the ends are too rough.

    Makes a Dreaded Chore a Little Easier

    This dispenser works great and is very simple to use. I put all pills in gelatin capsules before dispensing, but that is not necessary unless the pill is tiny. For really difficult animals, a bit of butter or margarine can help.
