I began buying more SACDs after I found a Yamaha player at a thrift store. However, that player was on its last legs and failed shortly thereafter. I only have 5 SACDs total, but I also had four DVD-As that I had only played the video part of. When I saw this machine did SACD and DVD-A for a very low price, I decided to try it.
No regrets here! After a quick lens cleaning, all the SACDs play perfectly and two of the four DVD-As play without issue. (Two of my four DVD-As would not play, but as far as I can tell, they are titles with known problems, so I do not blame the machine for that.) It also plays regular DVDs and CDs just fine, and the image quality is surprisingly good over component video out. It switches aspect ratios on a dime which some older players don't.
If you need a cheap way to enjoy DVD-A and SACD, I highly recommend this machine at a price point of $30-40, especially if you have a small collection of them like I do. The slund quality sounds fine to my ears with no distortion or artifacts over digital or the multichannel analog outputs. Great user friendly player!
