Radio seems to work well. The FM band can be displayed but it will not receive as per the upgrade. I think the menu items are in a slightly different order than the regular UV-5R but I might be mistaken. Can't testify to the power output as I didn't attach an RF meter. Fast shipping, great seller.

Good radios, more power than stock uv5r. Stuff in the pictures is included, makes good gifts to friends looking to get into ham radios. I purchased 2, both of them look and function great. I'd recommend buying a programming cable and using CHIRP to program these, makes it much easier. Good radios, fast shipping. Would recommend

    Cool little machine, fun.

    I'm new to transceivers. Working on getting my license. Programming any of these little machines can be problematic for newbies such as me. But its fun. Will come in handy out fishing, rv etc. I like the fm feature also.Three different power levels. Lots of accessories available too.

    Good cheap little HT for newly licensed users

    I just got my HAM license, and this is a great little unit to start out on. It is nice to have the 8watts available, as it does better in urban areas with the extra power. It needs a better antenna, but those are cheap, and just about every HT on the market has a lame stock antenna. 4/5 because it cannot be programmed to only transmit on the HAM bands, even from external programming, making the unit a bit of a band pirate if you're not careful

    Great deal on this combo!

    Everything you need to get started at a great price. Program easily using chirp software download .img from radio, edit to your liking and upload it back to the radio. Extra antenna is the RD771 which appears to be the same as the nayoga ND-771 and the reviews and tests seem to confirm that also.
