About this product

Product Information

Acclaimed as a modern dramatic masterpiece, Rosencrantz & Guildenstern Are Dead is the fabulously inventive tale of Hamlet as told from the worm's-eye view of the bewildered Rosencrantz and Guildenstern, two minor characters in Shakespeare's play. In Tom Stoppard's best-known work, this Shakespearean Laurel and Hardy finally get a chance to take the lead role, but do so in a world where echoes of Waiting for Godot resound, where reality and illusion intermix, and where fate leads our two heroes to a tragic but inevitable end.

  • Couldn't get into it

This is a play, just wasn't for me. It's just twisted up humor based off some Shakespearean stuff.

  • Amazing play with too many great quotes to highlight!

This play, though confusing at first, proves to be incredibly brilliant and full of little gems of wisdom. I would recommend having a highlighter in hand while reading this because there are so many quotes worth remembering!

  • This is the movie script

I bought this book, thinking it was a copy of the original play, but it's really the film script. This is not necessarily a bad thing, as the film has a great script, but it meant that I had to buy a second copy to get the original play.
