Suitable for existing Amcrest environments.
If you have existing Amcrest cameras and want an approved NVR to record video, this is a good choice. Once you figure out the directions (not exactly accurate), the device will recognize your Amcrest cameras and you can set up your system. The interface is a little awkward to me , but with a little playing around you can get the hang of it. The fan on the device is noisy. I had this by my TV and had to place it in the stand's cabinet to try and lessen the noise. You might get use to it (or maybe I got a noisy fan). Haven't checked to see if I can use a wireless mouse (the cable length on the provided mouse limits your distance when accessing the NVR).If you have existing Amcrest cameras and want an approved NVR to record video, this is a good choice. Alternative to using a PC with BlueIris
I've used Blue Iris software with a pc for most of my deployments. This unit is far cheaper than a pc and does almost the same thing. If you have a monitor available to have in front of you, this dvr is wonderful. Setting up the "tour" options to display the camera it triggers is the best and I cannot do that with Blue Iris.
